What to expect:
- We aim to ship our orders from Monday-Wednesday depending on the weather forecast. If there are risks of flooding and harsh rises or drops in temperature then we may delay shipping of live inverts until it is safer.
- We will contact you if anything changes regarding estimated shipping times or unexpected problems.
- We do not ship live inverts during winter months (December-February)
- if necessary, we will include a heat pack to keep live orders warm and cosy - no extra charge!
- We ship to England, Wales and Scotland, we do not ship over seas.
How live orders are packed:
How live orders are packed:
We ensure that our invertebrates are packaged with the upmost caution. For our snails, we fit them into appropriately sized plastic containers with sufficient air holes. They are tucked in firmly with damp moss or coco coir to protect them and hold them steady during transit.
We then wrap the box carefully with packing paper before securing it with packing materials (paper or packing peanuts). We then seal the box with a fragile label and live animal/invertebrate sticker ready for transit. We exclusively use Royal mail 24 tracked for live orders.
If the weather is cold, we will add a heat pack to the box, tucked inside a safe distance from your snail. All live invertebrates arrive with a small care pamphlet and a guide to helping them settle in. You can find both of these resources here.
Where possible, we will reuse boxes and containers for shipping to reduce waste. So please do forgive us if the boxes are a little worn! We will only use suitable packaging that is sturdy and safe for your snails.
